Jhoann Miyajima

Practice Liaison Officer / Research Facilitator

Shaping digital systems for large-scale health surveillance

I work with the Oxford-RCGP Research and Surveillance Centre (RSC) Network as a Practice Liaison Officer and Research Facilitator, where I help shape and coordinate surveillance activity across a network of more than 2,000 general practices, enabling large-scale participation in national surveillance programmes.

I recently led the development and launch of the Oxford–RCGP RSC Practice Hub, a digital platform designed to strengthen engagement, streamline communication, and improve information flow across the network. My work focuses on designing systems that enable scalable surveillance, alongside close collaboration with practices to drive engagement and sustain network activity.

Experience
Before joining the Oxford-RCGP RSC, I spent over five years at the Bioinformatics Institute, A*STAR (Singapore) as a bioinformatician. Through the Pharma Innovation Programme, I collaborated with pharmaceutical partners including GSK, Pfizer, and MSD, applying machine-learning approaches to accelerate enzyme development in biocatalysis.

Background
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Computational Biology from the National University of Singapore and a Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from Nanyang Technological University. I’m currently part of the King’s Product Management Career Accelerator and am particularly interested in developing digital products that sit at the intersection of healthcare, research, and project management.
